Core skills that Caitlin Rafters has obtained while running her photography business were the skills of using Adobe Creative Cloud. At first, the programs she mainly used was Photoshop and Premiere Pro but during her time in College she gained knowledge in Illustrator as well as InDesign. Throughout her professional life she has gained knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Canva. When it comes to working social medias, her main skills are based within Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. As well as her most recent accomplishments is become certified as a RPAS pilot meaning she has obtained an Advanced Drone Flight Certificate.

Owning her business is her main aspect where she got aspects of her professional history. While running her own business she had an opportunity to be published in a magazine. As a result, she worked hard to time manage as well as get creative to meet deadline for submission in Wanderous Affair Magazine, after that she was published in the Spring 2021 issue of their magazine.
Her role as the owner and photographer of this company was to identified opportunities to get creative during sessions, use Microsoft Word to create invoices, schedule monthly to plan as well as post on social media and website, communicated with clients to book, plan and discuss sessions-assured clients experience was great, ensure to stay organized as well as efficient while culled down to best images to give to clients after each session, edited images to perfection in Photoshop (colour corrections, crops, face swaps, retouching, etc.) Above all organized Sony and Godox gear, batteries charged and memory cards ready for next session.

Rusty’s at Blue
While working as a server at Rustys, Caitlin positively and calmly tended to customers’ needs daily in high pressure environment, this included paying attention to detail while cleared and reset tables, clean workspace and be ready for turn over. At the end of the night, she completed list of side duties and cutlery before finishing shift every shift to ensure the next shift would have the resources needed to run smoothly. She was also flexible with hours and bartended drinks under pressure during club night between 10pm to 2am.

When she worked with a team to serve tables, independently bartending as well as completing a list of side duties and cutlery before finishing shift as a team.

During her time working for Nat Caitlin formatted memory cards, backed up images onto hard drives, Focused on learning studio workflow. She also worked hard to stick to deadlines while editing images using photoshop, fix issues before sending images to clients. She would also set up studio for shoots in morning and clean up after. Always paid attention to detail while booking clients in and confirmed sessions 48 hours before. All in all, she needed to stay sharp and paid attention to the needs of Nat Caron while assisting on photo shoots twice a week. Although her time working there was short. She gained a lot of knowledge and skills.
Server/Bartender 2015 – 2016
Iron Skillet
While working at the Iron Skillet her tasks consisted of greeted customers at door with a smile, supervising (discounts, voids, solved complaints when supervisor was required, lock up restaurant at end of night, be available to help servers solve problem). She also needed to work alongside other positions while serving (take orders, get drinks, deliver food to tables, tend to customers’ needs throughout visit). As well as clearing and reset tables to keep dining room clean and ready for turn over, opening restaurant up at beginning of day and bartending on weekends (ensure drinks are prepared for servers to deliver to tables).

• Volunteered at Leisureworld Care Giving Center, helping with recreational activities 2005-2017
with seniors as needed for 8 years
• Assisted at haunted house held at Stayner Collegiate Institute, helped with setting up, 2011
